NovaMovie: movies, TV shows, anime, K-dramas and Bollywood, from Frieren to 12th Fail

NovaMovie gathers the stories people are watching across half the world into one night-blue page: Hollywood blockbusters, Bollywood hits, anime films and series, Korean dramas and films, Spanish series and the TV shows everyone talks about. It follows the layout of Nova Movies, its nearest archived relative, with a big featured slider, rows of posters, ranked TOP lists and a sidebar of genres and years, and dresses it in a design of its own: a deep sky with faint stars, a coral-and-amber star for a logo and warm gold for every score. Every title opens on the official services that carry it, through one Watch now button.

This guide explains how NovaMovie works and what waits on each shelf. The first part tours the page: the header, the featured slider, the rows, the poster cards, the TOP lists and the sidebar. The second part explores the shelves: Hollywood, anime, K-dramas and Korean films, Bollywood, the English and Spanish series, and the genre shelves. The third part is practical: where each kind of title plays, with a close look at the Philippines, India and the United States, then subtitles, free viewing, devices, My List, the official address and safe streaming. For the short version, read how to watch on NovaMovie.

Where the design comes from

NovaMovie's own domains survive in the web archive only as parked pages, so its design starts from the closest working site: Nova Movies, archived at novamovies.xyz in September 2024. That site ran a WordPress theme called Zetaflix; the archive kept its page structure in full, while its style sheets are lost. It opened on a full-width slider of five featured titles, each with a score, a year, genres, a short description and a Watch button. Below came a Movies row and a TV Shows row, each with a View all link. A sidebar on the right held ranked TOP Movies and TOP TV Shows lists, a Genres list with a count beside each genre, a Popular block with tabs for Movies and TV Shows, and a long list of years.

NovaMovie keeps every one of those pieces, in the same order, and gives them an original look built around its name. A nova is a star that suddenly flares bright, and the design borrows that idea: a night-blue background with a scattering of tiny stars, panels in a slightly lighter midnight blue, a coral-pink accent that warms to amber in gradients, and gold for every score.

The header

The header is a slim, translucent band of midnight blue that stays at the top as you scroll, softly blurring the page behind it. On the left sits the logo: a four-pointed star in a coral-to-amber gradient with a white centre, then Nova in white and Movie in the same warm gradient. Beside it runs the menu in rounded pills: Home, Movies, TV Shows, Anime, K-Drama, Bollywood and A-Z. The page you are on glows with a faint coral wash.

On the right sit a rounded search box and a bright gradient button for My List. The search reads English and original titles, so Frieren and its Japanese title, or 12th Fail and its Hindi title, lead to the same page. The finding a title page lists every route through the catalogue. On a phone, the menu folds into a three-line button, and a tap opens a panel with the search, every link, My List and the help pages.

The featured slider

The home page opens on the featured slider, a wide rounded panel holding a backdrop from one of five featured titles. A deep gradient darkens its left side, and there sit the title in large white letters, a row of chips with the score in gold, the year and the genres, the first lines of the story and a Watch button in the coral-to-amber gradient.

In the lower right corner, five small posters stand in a row, each in a rounded frame. Click one and the slider switches to that title; the chosen poster lifts slightly and gains a coral frame. The featured titles are chosen to span the whole catalogue, so a science-fiction blockbuster can sit beside an anime series, a Hindi drama, an animated comedy and a Korean family saga. On a phone, the text moves below the image and the five posters line up underneath.

The rows

Below a short welcome panel with the page heading and four quick links, the main column holds five rows, each under a heading marked with a small glowing star and a View all link. Movies shows the twelve most popular films; TV Shows the twelve most popular series, anime and dramas; then come three smaller rows of eight: Anime, K-Drama and Bollywood. On a wide screen the rows show six posters across, on a tablet four, on a phone three and then two.

The poster cards

Each poster sits in a card with rounded corners. A small dark badge in the top left corner shows the score with a gold star, and titles still on their way carry a gradient Soon badge on the right. Below the poster come the title on a single line and a quieter line with the year and either the running time or the number of episodes.

Point at a card and the poster grows very slightly while a gradient rises from the bottom, revealing the title, the year, the first two genres and a small gradient Watch button. It is a quick way to size up a title before opening it.

The TOP lists

The sidebar opens with two ranked lists, TOP Movies and TOP TV Shows, each in its own rounded panel. Every row holds a large outlined number, a small poster, the title, the year and the score. The first place is filled in solid coral, and the rest are drawn in outline, which gives the lists the look of a chart. TOP Movies ranks the highest-rated films with a strong number of votes, and TOP TV Shows does the same for series, anime and dramas.

The Genres panel

Below the TOP lists comes the Genres panel, a two-column grid of genre buttons, each with its title count in gold, just as the archived Nova Movies sidebar listed its genres with counts. The eight genres are Action, Animation, Comedy, Crime, Drama, Family, Sci-Fi and Fantasy, and Horror and Thriller. Each opens its shelf.

The title pages

Every card opens a title page. The backdrop runs across the top with the poster, the title and the original title, then chips with the type, the year, the running time or the number of episodes and the genres. The story follows, with the Watch now and Add to My List buttons, and a table of details: original language, country, studio, release date and score. The cast comes next with character names, then the creators or director, and for a series every season and episode with its air date. A row of similar titles closes the page.

The Watch now button opens a small panel with a country list, the Philippines first, then India and the United States, where NovaMovie's visitors come from most. Pick your country and the title opens on JustWatch, which lists every subscription, rental, purchase and free option there. Your choice is remembered for the next title.

The shelves

NovaMovie sorts its catalogue into nineteen shelves. Four are for films by region: Hollywood, Bollywood, Anime Movies and Korean Movies. Four are for series: TV Series, K-Drama, Anime Series and Spanish Series. Three are special lists: New in 2026, Top Movies and Top TV Shows. Eight follow genre. Most titles sit on several shelves at once, so an anime fantasy appears under Anime Series, Animation and Sci-Fi and Fantasy alike.

Hollywood

The Hollywood guide gives the short tour. The Hollywood shelf gathers the English-language films of recent years, most popular first, from superhero sagas to original science fiction.

Project Hail Mary is one of the big science-fiction films of 2026, with Ryan Gosling as a teacher who wakes aboard a spaceship and slowly remembers the mission that sent him there. Avatar: Fire and Ash takes the Sully family into conflict with a fiery new clan on Pandora, and Dune and Dune: Part Two bring Frank Herbert's desert world to life with overwhelming scale. Oppenheimer tells the story of the physicist behind the atomic bomb and won seven Academy Awards.

Superheroes fill much of the shelf. Avengers: Endgame closes the first great arc of the Marvel saga, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse sends Miles Morales through a dazzling multiverse. The Batman offers a rain-soaked detective story, Superman opens a hopeful new DC universe, and Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic 4: First Steps bring new teams to Marvel. Joker turns a comic-book villain into a haunting character study.

For the whole family, Zootopia 2, Inside Out 2, The Wild Robot, Moana 2, KPop Demon Hunters and Toy Story 5 are full of colour and heart. Action fans have Top Gun: Maverick, F1, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, John Wick: Chapter 4 and Fast X, and horror fans have Sinners and Weapons, two of the most talked-about films of 2025.

Anime

The anime guide picks the highlights. Anime is one of the most popular parts of NovaMovie, with its own series and film shelves, and it covers everything from gentle fantasies to huge battle sagas.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is one of the most loved anime of recent years. It begins where most fantasy stories end: after the heroes have defeated the Demon King. Frieren, an elf mage who will outlive her companions by centuries, sets out on a new journey to understand the people she travelled with. It is quiet, funny and deeply moving.

SPY x FAMILY follows a spy who builds a pretend family for a mission. His adopted daughter secretly reads minds, his new wife is secretly an assassin, and each keeps their secret from the others. It is warm and hilarious. Solo Leveling follows the weakest hunter in a world of monster-filled dungeons as he gains the power to grow stronger, and Kaiju No. 8 follows a monster-disposal worker who becomes a monster himself.

JUJUTSU KAISEN follows a student who swallows a cursed finger and joins a school of sorcerers, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 tells its prequel. Mob Psycho 100 is a funny, big-hearted story about a boy with enormous psychic powers who just wants a normal life. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Tokyo Revengers, Black Clover, Classroom of the Elite, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and The Misfit of Demon King Academy round out the series shelf.

Anime films

The Anime Movies shelf holds some of the most beautiful films of the last decade. Makoto Shinkai's trio leads it: Your Name., in which two teenagers wake up in each other's bodies across the country, Weathering with You, about a girl who can clear the rain from Tokyo's skies, and Suzume, about a girl who travels across Japan closing doors that unleash disaster. A Silent Voice: The Movie is a tender story about a former bully seeking forgiveness from a deaf classmate, and Violet Evergarden: The Movie closes the story of a former soldier who writes letters for others.

The Boy and the Heron, Hayao Miyazaki's latest film, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Look Back is a short, moving film about two girls who draw manga together. The franchise films bring television favourites to the cinema: Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, both record-breakers, One Piece Film Red, One Piece Film: GOLD, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc and Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, the grand finale of a famous saga.

K-dramas

The K-drama guide introduces the Korean shelves. Korean dramas are hugely popular in the Philippines and across Asia, and the K-Drama shelf gathers some of the most loved.

Crash Landing on You is the romance that made fans of millions: a South Korean heiress paraglides into a storm, lands across the border and is hidden by a North Korean officer in his village. When Life Gives You Tangerines follows a spirited girl from Jeju Island and the quiet boy who loves her across a whole lifetime, and it is one of the finest Korean series of recent years. True Beauty is a bright school romance about a girl whose make-up skills transform her reputation.

Fantasy and action are just as strong. Alchemy of Souls is a sweeping fantasy of mages and swapped souls, Moving follows teenagers who inherited superpowers from their parents, and The Uncanny Counter follows demon hunters who work out of a noodle shop. Tale of the Nine Tailed brings a fox spirit into modern Seoul. Weak Hero follows a quiet top student who fights back against bullies with his wits, Bloodhounds follows two young boxers against a loan shark, and A Shop for Killers follows a young woman who inherits her uncle's very peculiar online shop.

For thrills, Sweet Home traps residents of an apartment block as people turn into monsters, All of Us Are Dead traps students in their school during a zombie outbreak, and Mouse is a twisting serial-killer mystery. New series join as they premiere: Teach You a Lesson, Perfect Crown and The WONDERfools are among the 2026 arrivals.

Korean films

The Korean Movies shelf shows why Korean cinema has such a global following. Parasite became the first film in a language other than English to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. Decision to Leave is an elegant romantic mystery, and Exhuma a chilling hit about a cursed grave. Extreme Job is a comedy about detectives running a chicken restaurant as a cover, and 20th Century Girl is a nostalgic first-love story set in 1999.

Action fans can turn to The Roundup and The Roundup: No Way Out, with Ma Dong-seok as a detective with fists like hammers, Peninsula and #Alive for zombie survival, Ashfall for a volcanic disaster on the Korean peninsula, and Alienoid for time-travelling science fiction. Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs is a colourful animated fairy tale.

Bollywood

The Bollywood guide sums up the Hindi shelf. India is NovaMovie's second-largest audience, and the Bollywood shelf gathers the biggest Hindi films of recent years, from action spectacles to warm family stories.

12th Fail is the film that won hearts across India: the true story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, a young man from a poor village in Chambal who fails his exams, starts again and fights his way to the Indian Police Service. Its audience score is one of the highest of any Hindi film. Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi adaptation of Forrest Gump, following a kind-hearted man through decades of Indian history.

Shah Rukh Khan leads three of the shelf's biggest hits: Pathaan, a globe-trotting spy thriller, Jawan, a double role full of twists, and Dunki, a warm story about friends who dream of reaching London. War pairs Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in a high-speed chase, Fighter takes to the skies with the Indian Air Force, and Uri: The Surgical Strike dramatises a real military operation.

Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge are fast spy action, KILL is a ferocious thriller set on a night train, and Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva is a fantasy epic built on Indian mythology. For lighter evenings, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is a colourful family romance, Crew a comedy about three flight attendants, and Saiyaara the romance that swept young audiences in 2025.

TV series

The TV shows guide introduces the series shelves. The TV Series shelf gathers popular English-language series. Reacher adapts Lee Child's novels about a towering former military policeman who takes on corruption wherever he goes. Stranger Things follows friends in 1980s Indiana who face creatures from a parallel world. Silo follows a community living in a vast underground tower, and FROM traps travellers in a mysterious town that holds them fast.

Yellowstone follows the Dutton family and their Montana ranch, Ted Lasso follows an American coach at a London football club, and Young Sheldon tells the childhood of the famous physicist from The Big Bang Theory. The Rookie follows the oldest rookie in the Los Angeles police, 9-1-1 follows first responders, The Good Doctor a young surgeon with autism and Lucifer the devil himself, retired to Los Angeles to help the police. Loki, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Riverdale and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power add fantasy and superheroes.

Two animated classics join them for younger viewers: Avatar: The Last Airbender, one of the most admired animated series ever made, and Ben 10, the story of a boy with a watch that turns him into aliens.

Spanish series

The Spanish Series shelf is small and carefully chosen. The Eternaut is an Argentine science-fiction series about survivors of a deadly snowfall in Buenos Aires, based on a famous comic. Cable Girls follows four women working at a telephone company in 1920s Madrid. 30 Coins is a supernatural horror series set in a Spanish village, and The House of Flowers is a dark Mexican comedy about a wealthy family with a flower shop and plenty of secrets.

Top Movies and Top TV Shows

The top picks guide lists the highest scores. The Top Movies shelf gathers films with a score of 7.8 or higher and thousands of votes, and the Top TV Shows shelf does the same for series at 8.2 or higher. Together they are the surest starting point for anyone new to a region or a format.

Among films, Parasite, Your Name., Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, A Silent Voice: The Movie and The Wild Robot sit near the top, a mix of Korea, Japan and Hollywood that shows how wide the catalogue reaches. Among series, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, When Life Gives You Tangerines, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Crash Landing on You and Mob Psycho 100 lead the way.

The genre shelves

The eight genre shelves cut across every region. Action gathers superhero films, Bollywood spectacles, Korean crime thrillers and anime battles, so Avengers: Endgame, Pathaan, The Roundup and JUJUTSU KAISEN sit side by side. Animation holds Hollywood family films and anime alike, from Zootopia 2 to Suzume. Comedy runs from Extreme Job to Ted Lasso and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War.

Crime holds thrillers and mysteries from every corner, Drama the serious and moving stories, and Family the titles for younger viewers, including Ben 10 and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Sci-Fi and Fantasy gathers Dune, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, Alchemy of Souls and Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva, and Horror and Thriller holds Sinners, Exhuma, Sweet Home and 30 Coins.

New in 2026

The New in 2026 shelf gathers the year's arrivals across every region: Project Hail Mary, The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Toy Story 5, Supergirl and Michael from Hollywood, Dhurandhar: The Revenge from India, Colony from Korea and new K-dramas such as Teach You a Lesson. Titles still on their way carry the gradient Soon badge on their posters.

Mixing regions

One of the pleasures of NovaMovie is moving between regions. A fan of Stranger Things may love Sweet Home or All of Us Are Dead. Someone who enjoyed Top Gun: Maverick may enjoy Fighter, with its Indian Air Force dogfights. Fans of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse often fall for Your Name. or Suzume, and anyone moved by 12th Fail will find a similar spirit in When Life Gives You Tangerines.

The row of similar titles at the bottom of every title page is built for this kind of discovery, and the genre shelves make it easy to follow a mood rather than a country.

Where everything plays

Every title opens on the official services that carry it, and the Watch now panel lists them for your country. Because NovaMovie covers so many regions, the services vary widely from title to title, and a single up-to-date list saves a great deal of searching.

Watching in the Philippines

The Philippines sits first in NovaMovie's country list, because more visitors come from there than anywhere else. Netflix carries a large share of the K-dramas, anime and Hollywood films, and Prime Video and Disney+ add many more. Viu is a favourite for Korean dramas, often with Tagalog subtitles and new episodes soon after they air in Korea. Crunchyroll carries most of the anime series, and iWantTFC and local broadcasters offer Korean dramas dubbed in Tagalog.

Choose Philippines in the Watch now panel and JustWatch shows every option for each title, with the free services clearly marked.

Watching in India

In India, JioHotstar, Netflix, Prime Video and ZEE5 carry most Hindi films, often within eight weeks of their cinema release, and many arrive with Tamil and Telugu dubs too. Anime has a fast-growing audience, with Crunchyroll and Netflix carrying the big series in English and often in Hindi. Korean dramas are popular on Netflix and MX Player. Choose India in the Watch now panel for the full list.

Watching in the United States

In the United States, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount+ and Peacock carry the Hollywood films and English series. Crunchyroll and Hulu carry much of the anime, Viki and Netflix much of the Korean catalogue, and Netflix and Prime Video a growing range of Hindi films. Digital stores rent and sell nearly every film, and free services such as Tubi and Pluto TV carry anime, Asian dramas and older films with ads.

Watching elsewhere

The Watch now panel covers fifteen countries, from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore to the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Nigeria, Mexico, Spain and Brazil. In Southeast Asia, Viu, iQIYI and Netflix carry most of the Asian titles; in the Middle East, OSN+ and Shahid join the global services; and in Latin America and Spain, Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ carry the Spanish series with local dubs.

Subtitles and dubs

Official services carry subtitles for almost every title, usually in many languages, and dubbed versions for many anime, K-dramas and big films. Anime fans often debate subtitles against dubs, and both have their pleasures: the original Japanese voices carry the performances as intended, while a good English, Hindi or Tagalog dub lets you keep your eyes on the pictures. The service page for each title lists every available language.

Free and legal viewing

The free movies and shows page explains where to watch free and legally. Several services carry films, anime and dramas free with ads: Tubi and Pluto TV in the United States, for example, and ad-supported tiers of regional services in Asia. Anime publishers and Korean broadcasters share trailers, clips and sometimes full episodes on their official channels, and many subscription services offer a free trial, which is a fine moment to binge a whole anime season or a K-drama. In the Watch now panel, free options are marked clearly for your country.

Other places to watch

The other places to watch page lists the official services for each kind of title. The global services, Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+, carry a little of everything. Specialists go deeper: Crunchyroll for anime, Viu and Viki for Asian dramas, JioHotstar and ZEE5 for Indian cinema. Many viewers keep one global service and one specialist, and rotate the specialist every few months to follow the titles they want most.

Apps and devices

The apps and devices page covers every screen. On a phone, install the official apps of the services you use; the Watch now panel leads straight to the right one. Many anime and K-drama fans watch mostly on their phones, and the official apps handle subtitles and downloads for offline viewing on a commute. On a television, smart TVs, streaming sticks and games consoles run the same apps with the best picture and sound, which suits the big Hollywood and Bollywood spectacles. On a computer, every service plays in the browser.

NovaMovie itself adapts to every screen. On a wide screen the sidebar sits beside the rows; on a tablet it moves below them; on a phone the slider text moves under the image, the rows show three posters and then two, and the menu folds into a button.

My List

My List keeps the titles you want to watch, and the My List page explains how it works. Press Add to My List on any title page and the title joins your list at once. Open My List from the gradient button in the header to see your saved posters, and remove the ones you have finished.

My List suits a catalogue this varied. Keep an anime series for the commute, a K-drama for the weekend, a Bollywood film for family night and a Hollywood blockbuster for the big screen. The list lives in the browser that created it; Export saves it to a small file, and Import merges that file on another device.

The official address

NovaMovie has one fixed address, shown in your browser's address bar, and the official NovaMovie site page explains how to recognise it. Bookmark the home page or add it to your phone's home screen, and it opens with your country and My List ready.

The official site is easy to recognise: a night-blue page with faint stars, a coral-and-amber star logo, a large featured slider with five small posters in its corner, rounded poster rows under headings marked with glowing stars, and a sidebar with ranked TOP lists in outlined numbers, a Genres grid with gold counts, Popular tabs and a Years cloud. Every Watch now button leads to JustWatch and official services, and look-alike pages give themselves away with pop-ups and download prompts.

The Korean wave in the Philippines

Few countries love Korean drama as much as the Philippines. Korean series first reached Filipino television in the early 2000s, dubbed in Tagalog and shown in prime time, and they have been part of everyday life ever since. Today fans follow new episodes on streaming services within hours of their Korean broadcast, share favourite scenes and quote lines in conversation. It makes perfect sense that NovaMovie's largest audience comes from the Philippines, and the K-Drama shelf is built with those viewers in mind.

Filipino fans tend to love the big romances, such as Crash Landing on You and True Beauty, and the family sagas, such as When Life Gives You Tangerines, as well as fantasy series like Alchemy of Souls and Tale of the Nine Tailed. Many also follow Korean films, from Parasite to Extreme Job, and anime, which shares much of the same young audience.

Anime around the world

Anime has grown from a niche passion into one of the most watched forms of entertainment on the planet. Streaming services now release new episodes worldwide at the same time as in Japan, with subtitles in many languages, and anime films regularly top the box office in countries far from Japan. Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train became the highest-grossing film in Japan's history, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle carried that success around the globe.

Part of anime's appeal is its range. The same medium gives us quiet, reflective stories such as Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and Violet Evergarden: The Movie, comedies such as Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, and huge action sagas such as JUJUTSU KAISEN. NovaMovie's anime shelves try to reflect that range, with something for every mood.

Bollywood beyond India

Hindi cinema has a vast audience beyond India, from the Gulf states and South Africa to the United Kingdom, the United States, Malaysia and Singapore. Big releases such as Jawan and Pathaan open around the world on the same day as in India, and streaming services now carry them to every continent with subtitles in many languages. The NovaMovie country list includes the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Malaysia and Singapore partly for this reason.

Bollywood's mix of action, romance, comedy and music is a big part of its charm. A single film can move from a car chase to a song on a Swiss mountainside to a family argument over dinner, and audiences love it for exactly that. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Dunki show that mix at its warmest, and 12th Fail shows the quieter, realistic side of modern Hindi cinema.

Hollywood's global audience

Hollywood films remain the common thread for viewers everywhere, and the Hollywood shelf is the largest on NovaMovie. The biggest releases of recent years, from Avengers: Endgame to Avatar: Fire and Ash, open in almost every country at once and reach streaming services worldwide a few months later. Many are dubbed into Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Tagalog, Indonesian and Spanish, and the service page for each film lists every available language, so the whole family can watch together in the language they prefer.

Spanish-language stories

Spanish-language series have become a global force of their own, carried by streaming services from Madrid, Buenos Aires and Mexico City to viewers on every continent. NovaMovie's Spanish shelf is deliberately small and varied: a science-fiction epic in The Eternaut, a period drama in Cable Girls, supernatural horror in 30 Coins and a sharp family comedy in The House of Flowers. Each shows a different side of Spanish-language television, and each is a good way to hear the language while following a gripping story.

Like the anime and Korean shelves, the Spanish shelf is a reminder that great stories come from everywhere. With subtitles switched on, a whole world of television opens up, and NovaMovie's Watch now panel shows exactly where each of these series plays in your country.

Checking the site

The site status page explains how to check that NovaMovie is working. Open the home page: when the featured slider and the Movies row appear, everything is running. If a page is slow, reload it once, try another browser or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If a streaming service is slow, its own help or status page carries the latest news.

Staying safe

The staying safe while you watch page gathers a short checklist. Official apps and websites give the best picture and keep your devices safe, and NovaMovie sends every title to official services through JustWatch. Protect your streaming accounts with strong passwords and two-step sign-in, keep your devices updated, and install apps from the official app stores. Anime and K-drama fans are often offered look-alike apps that promise everything for free; the official services, including their free tiers, are the safe choice.

Privacy and data

NovaMovie keeps its footprint small. Your chosen country and My List live in your own browser and stay there. Titles, posters, backdrops, stories, cast lists, seasons, episodes and scores come from TMDB, The Movie Database, through its official interface, and the viewing options come from JustWatch when you press Watch now. The help pages and this guide are written for NovaMovie, an independent site with its own writing.

Reading the scores

Every title carries a score out of ten from TMDB users, shown in gold on the poster badge and on the title page with the number of votes. Scores for anime and K-dramas often run high, because their audiences are devoted and enthusiastic, so it helps to compare a title with others of its kind. A score backed by many thousands of votes, such as that of Parasite or Your Name., is a steady guide, while a brand-new release can move quickly in its first weeks.

Where to start

With so many regions and formats, a first visit to NovaMovie can feel like looking up at a sky full of stars. A few simple routes help. If you already love one kind of story, start with its shelf and its guide: anime fans with Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, K-drama fans with Crash Landing on You, Bollywood fans with 12th Fail, Hollywood fans with Dune: Part Two. If you want to try something new, start with the Top Movies and Top TV Shows lists in the sidebar, which mix the best of every region.

The featured slider is another good start. Its five titles are chosen to span the catalogue, so clicking through them gives a quick taste of everything NovaMovie offers.

A first taste of anime

For viewers new to anime, films are the easiest door. Your Name. and Suzume are beautiful, self-contained stories that take about two hours each. The Boy and the Heron and A Silent Voice: The Movie are moving and thoughtful. For a first series, SPY x FAMILY is light, funny and easy to love, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is calm and quietly wonderful, and Mob Psycho 100 mixes comedy with spectacular action. Fans of big battles can move on to JUJUTSU KAISEN, Solo Leveling and Kaiju No. 8.

A first taste of K-drama

For viewers new to K-drama, Crash Landing on You remains the classic first choice: romantic, funny and full of heart, with a village of neighbours as lovable as its leads. True Beauty is a lighter school romance, and When Life Gives You Tangerines is a deeply moving family saga. Fans of action can start with Moving or Weak Hero, and fans of fantasy with Alchemy of Souls. Most K-dramas run for one season of twelve to twenty episodes, which makes them perfect for a binge.

A first taste of Bollywood

For viewers new to Hindi cinema, 12th Fail is a wonderful first film: a true story of persistence that needs no knowledge of Bollywood to enjoy. Jawan and Pathaan show the big, joyful spectacle of a Shah Rukh Khan action film, songs and all, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani shows the colourful family romance Bollywood does so well. Many Hindi films run close to three hours, so an evening with a snack and an interval is part of the fun.

Ideas for a night in

A night of animated wonders might pair Zootopia 2 with Weathering with You. A zombie double bill could run from #Alive to All of Us Are Dead's first episodes. A night of big action could start with Top Gun: Maverick and end with War. And a quiet evening could pair Frieren: Beyond Journey's End with 20th Century Girl, two gentle stories about time and memory.

A family night

For a family evening that suits every age, start with an animated film such as Zootopia 2, Inside Out 2 or KPop Demon Hunters, and let younger children pick an episode of Ben 10 or Avatar: The Last Airbender while the older ones choose between Your Name. and Moana 2. Each title page shows the rating for your country on the service that carries it, which makes the final choice easy.

How the catalogue is chosen

The NovaMovie catalogue follows the mix of the archived Nova Movies, which placed Hollywood films beside Bollywood hits, anime, Korean series and Spanish series. Its core is the most popular Hollywood films since 2019, the biggest Hindi films of recent years, the most popular anime films and series, Korean films and dramas, popular English series and a handful of Spanish series, with a few animated classics for younger viewers.

Every title is checked by hand before it joins a shelf. The catalogue is built for a broad audience, so reality shows and talk shows sit outside it, as do fan-service anime, erotic series and dramas built around sexual violence. The result is a catalogue full of adventure, romance, fantasy, comedy and drama from every corner of the sky.

A short history of NovaMovie

The NovaMovie name has passed through several domains over the years. novamovie.com carried a parked search page as early as 2012, and novamovie.cc appears in the archive only as a parked page. The nearest working site with the name was Nova Movies at novamovies.xyz, archived in 2024, with its Zetaflix layout of a featured slider, rows, TOP lists and a genre and year sidebar. NovaMovie follows that layout with an original design, and pairs it with official viewing: every title now leads to the services that carry it in the viewer's own country.
